Summer Pistol League Begins

The Summer Pistol League will begin on Wednesday, May 24. The schedule starts with two weeks of practice and then competition begins on June 8th after two weeks of practice.

We typically shoot 12 weeks of league matches, each Wednesday night at 6:00 PM. Shooting is on the outdoor pistol range with targets at 25 yards. Because we are outdoors we are occasionally at the mercy of the summer thunderstorms and, late in the season, subject to earlier closing hours of the outdoor ranges. To make sure there is time for all shooters, we start the first line shooting promptly at 6PM. A second line typically starts 45 minutes later.

This is Bullseye Discipline Shooting consisting of one handed shooting. Each competitor shoots 30 rounds per match; 10 shots each in slow, timed, and rapid fire targets. Any pistol can be used and scores are ranked in multiple divisions. We shoot a .22 caliber division along with large and small center-fire divisions, further separated into iron and scoped sight categories. The league has a $10.00 registration fee plus a nightly match fee of $4.00 per match. Come join the fun, shoot and learn from some very talented shooters in this league.
